About Clinical Trials: The Power of Participation

Connect patients, families, clinicians, and others with the best available, scientifically sound resources on clinical trials.

How & Why We Created CTPoP
purpose

Our Purpose

We created this website with the goal of connecting patients, families, clinicians, and others with the best available, scientifically sound resources on clinical trials. We know that it can be confusing and overwhelming for even experienced professionals to find answers to their questions on clinical trials. With the creation of this website, we hope to make it easier for the public to understand how clinical trials work, how to enroll in a clinical trial, and what to expect as a clinical trial participant.

philosophy

Our Philosophy

We believe that knowledge is power. By arming the public with the facts about clinical trials, we can ensure everyone feels empowered to participate if they should want to. Clinical trials may be just one component of the rigorous process scientists go through when creating a new treatment for patients, but we (at BIO) think it is the most exciting part! Participating in a clinical trial allows everyday people the opportunity to take an active role in the creation of innovative medicines that could save hundreds or thousands of lives.

Method

Our Method

Science is rooted in curiosity and our natural desire to better understand the world around us; the scientific method is, in its essence, a roadmap we can use to find the answers to our questions. In today’s world, where disinformation is common, it can be especially challenging to separate fact from fiction when searching for answers. That’s why our team of life sciences professionals has scoured the web and pulled together an introductory guide on clinical trials, using only reputable sources. While the information found here on our website may not include every source on the internet, you can trust that each resource endorsed on our site has been carefully verified for accuracy.
